Gave my mate a shot of my car...

Yeah was parked outside his house last night, and as we came out he asked 'so who's driving?' thought to myself, i'll let him have a little shot, as i have just fitted my decat, wanted to see if there was much difference etc..

anyways, was driving about, and told him to really give it some, and for some reason, the car felt much much quicker in the passenger seat, i thought i was getting bored, but it felt rapid!! anyone else noticed this?

as a result, he is looking for a 172 now lol

nope i've not noticed it because i'd lever let my mates drive my car i notice it when i've been driving my brothers car (1.1 Pug 206) and then get back in mine though

yeah you do feel different in the passenger seat.i think its because your not behind the wheel and you are in control of the car...but still is quick wether driving or not

Yeah Ive let quite a few of my mates drive my car. I really dont mind aslong as they have a licence,if Im in the car withe em who cares?.Only really let my best mates drive my car on their own,they know they can borrow the keys anytime and I know I can do the same with theirs.

oh and it definately feels quicker in the passenger seat,especially after a few.

Yup, after a few drinks as a passenger in a car being driven quickly it can seem VERY quick, lol. I have noticed in th past though that cars always seem quicker when your not driving. When I am a passenger in my dads car it always seems much quicker when he puts his foot down that when I'm driving.

when i was buying my 172, and i was in the passenger side, he booted it alittle just to show these are nippy cars, i thought to myself that it didnt feel as quick as i was hoping. but i still went ahead and got it and then on the way home i gave it abit of w*lly and thought fook me its quicker then i thought!!

yep..totally feel the car is more rapid in the passengers seat.. i think thats because i expect the forces in the driving seat... and able to balance/hold onto the wheel.

I have never let my mates drive it, they have given up asking for a go now. The only reason i dont is because if they crashed it, i know they wouldnever be able to afford to pay me back.

The GF drives it though, which is probably more scary

Thats odd mate, i was the other way around! guy gave it some and it felt quick, then i got in the passenger seat and it was a bit of a let down lol

Not been a passenger yet. Only had it 4 weeks I don't dare let anyone drive it, not that I don't trust them as some of my friends have been driving longer than me.

Me and a mate are going 2 the local Airfield later in the week if the weathers good 2 take some pics, might let him have a blast then..

most my mates would get torque steer and bin it no doubt so no danger they're getting shots. Only a few mates (other than members here) would be allowed a shot, but they're not likely to ask.

I don't let my friends drive my car anymore...back when i was 18,i let a friend have a drive and he promptly smashed into a brick wall,lol. Its not that i dont trust my friends,just dont want to go through the same ordeal again and espcecially as most have never driven a car with as much fizz..

My girlf has recently passed her test and is now driving the 172 and it certainly feels quicker in the passenger seat. I think it's because you're not expecting the forces when they come under hard acceleration/breaking so they take you by surprise and throw you around a bit, and she hasn't even driven it hard yet so god knows what it feels like for passengers when I'm driving!

My 225 owning mate asked me to have a sprint trial with him on Saturday, me driving my 172. I was quite pleased to discover that the 172 was not that far off of his pace. We didn't hit illegal speeds and I guess he'd probably have pulled away easy if we had?

My valver feels much quicker in the passenger seat...

It doesn't feel as quick when you're driving as you know when to expect harsh acceleration and cornering, plus you have the support of the steering wheel to hold you in place.

Passengers have no idea when you're about to slam your foot down so their heads fly backwards..
