Gear Box Help

Dose Any1 No If A Gear Box Out Of Mk1 Diesel Will Go Straight Into A Valver The Diesel Are 1.9 And Valvers Are 1.8

Don't know TBH mate, but would you not be better with a valver box anyway as I would have thought the ratios on the diesel will be different and could slow it down? If not a valver JB3 box you could try a JC5 from a williams which are much more expensive, but they are better boxes.

I'm interested in this too, heard a rumor a while ago about this. But as donsrno said the ratio would be different.....I think they would be shorter wouldn't they??:S :S

Ratios are massive to give you an idea
5 mph per thousand rpm in first, So say 35mph assuming 7k redline
10 mph per thousand rpm in first, So say 70mph assuming 7k redline
15 mph per thousand rpm in first, So say 105mph assuming 7k redline
20 mph per thousand rpm in first, So say 140mph assuming 7k redline
25 mph per thousand rpm in first, So say 175mph assuming 7k redline.
As you can see the acceleration would be poor put cruising on the motorway in top ay 70 you'd be doing about 3k. so to accelerat you'd have to drop a gear.
