gear box oil

  Audi A4
The last few weeks the gears haven't felt as smooth as they have been So I was assumming that the oil may need changing.

So could anyone reccommend me some good gear oil/, how much oil I will need? and where I can get the oil for a good price?
It's a mk1 172 year 2000 with 66000 on the clock.

Thanks

  BMW M3 & Williams 3
I use ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid), always have since it got reccommended to me, it's fully synthetic and works wonders in a manual box...

3.4 liters you need.
I used Miller 75/90 in my Willaims (same box realy) and its very good a bit notch when cold but no worse than stock stuff but superb when warm. £40 I think for 5 liters from Demon tweeks
The purple royal stuff is the best but its pricy

motul is the best fully synthetic, better than the silcoline which is awsome!!! try pm'ing oilman on here, they are the cheapest around i think!

Purple royal, what do you mean pricey? double the price of miller, more?
Is it worth the extra expense, as I assume the oil will be there for a long time?

C'mon which is best, motul or purple royal ?

thanks for your help in advance
