gear changing

hi all Ive recently bought my clio cup well thursday i did, think its quality all round. a question though as i know all cars are different upgrading from a saxo vtr myself. right when racing off at the lights or any other type of drag what should you be holding ur revs up to obviously high but i know if over revving can actually not be beneficial infact less so what is the ideal revs for gear changing? what do you all do? cheers

its got to be more than that, its seems asif thats when it starts to get the power? i will try let you know how it goes? also it has gear changing light of when to change gear is that adviseable to follow or not?

Dont rag ya car man, u have a nice motor, dont brake it!!!
First gear pull offs cause the most damage to an engine!!!

Gear change light is when it's saying wtf are you doing dude change now :p
IIRC It's past it's peak power then anyway. although I do love a bit of limiter action, but since a remap I find I heardly ever hit the limiter now (7800)

Agreed with Thomas,i haven't hit the limiter yet now its raised to 7,800 simply because peak power has been and gone and it screams like nothing else i've heard and i'm scared of it going BANG!!! lol

NO NO NO i aint ragged it one bit, jus wanting advice. so in 1st gear pull off change at bout 3.5k then every gear after that around 7000k is that what you are sayin? to me they are quick so i dont need to rag the beast.

lol dude, don't change gear at 3500 in 1st get it way up there if you are racing.
Otherwise you will struggle like mad waiting for 2nd gear to reach higher revs bringing it on cam.
Bring it up to just before the limiter kicks in in 1st and so on... is a easy way of putting it.

Once the oil is warmed up that is.

6.5 k is peak power i think but i think u should change just before then to stay in the power band, only when the engine is warm and that will also help u not to crunch gears as they sometimes do more often when the engine is colder

Nah I think hes saying what to hold it on while waiting for the green before lifting the clutch, to get max speed without tires spinnin'

I think...
