Gear Gaiter 172 mk2

The gear gaiter ofmy GF's 172 popped out yesterday as she pu itino reverse, i tried to pop it back in but just pops back out it looks like a small clip has snapped at the back i tried to use a bitof glue but this didnt hold the pressure when put in reverse any ideas how to fix this very annoying issue??

Yeah, buy a new gaitor, less than £4 from a stealer, same thing happened to me a month ago.

do you just unstaple the leather gaiter and then reattach? You dont have a part number do you?

its an integrated item, so the gaitor is attached to a plastic frame that clips into the console. costs 3.77 new from renault for the entire thing, and you simply need to pull your old one out, and attach the new one. using a supplied cable tie (underneath the life up reverse) and then push it down to clip it in.

i had the same problem but luckily i have managed to superglue it down and it has stayed down since

Same thing happened mine - bought the part from the local reno (£3.80) and used the frame to hold in a silver leather gaitor

i wanted to do something similar using a momo one, but couldnt for the life of me get the momo one to sit on the renault frame, just kept popping back out as it was too thick round the edge to sit tight
