You dont need a chainsaw, just a hacksaw (or a pair of molegrips if you want to be less destructive!!!)

Yeah, i just cut it in half, this is the messy way of doing it though cos you get bits of plastic stuck in the carpet

im gonna do it this week, just bought new gaitor, knob and surround.

im gonna "borrow" some tools from work

I got mine off with my mums yellow rubber washing up gloves on, just kept twisting at it, and hey presto!! Saved a great deal of mess anyway! Have to be fairly strong though. Neighbours prob wondered what I was up to!!
