gear selector question

Car  F4R'd ITB'd '92 cup racer
can someone confirm where this goes, or should i say how it is attached

Schaltfkurz.jpg

some companies sell this with their short throw gear lever, i understand it attaches to the bottom of the lever under the car, am i right in thinking it just makes the lever under the car longer (meaning it points downwards), therefore reducing throw? or does it point 'forwards' but i cannot see how this reduces anything?

cheers

where's all the technical gurus when you need them? lol :rasp:

cmon fred you must have an idea;)

makes the lever under the car longer thereby meaning that less movement is required on the lever in the car to change gear.
some say : works wonders with french "dairy lee" boxes
edde Says: Ruins french boxes in double quick time as synchros arent cut out for it

i presume its beteer quality and its longer/shorter to adjust the leverage!

stick with a normal short shifter LOL

nothing wrong with trying new things (thats what my gay lover tells me anyway! )

thing is a B&M is £160 new, i've found these things for £30 odd quid :approve:

they're used by the grpN rally cars in france, must be ok! (although make sure its not a cheapo replica)

crap it blatantly is a cheap replica, well it must be for the price

i think someone has got hold of a genuine one and machined a copy, hmm i might just buy one and see what its like

My MB Motorsport short shifter comes with one of these even though ive been told by them not to fit it, so I wont :)
