Gearbox/ Clutch problem??

  Ibiza FR
Just got back from a drive to Solihull, car was driving perfectly fine all the way there and back to my mates, but after I dropped my mate off at his house, my car wouldn't go into 1st gear, so had to pull off in second.
Going up the road, the car then decides it won't go into 2nd gear either, so have to pull off in 3rd and made it home without stopping.

Just got home, and realised it went into 1st now but not second. Managed to get in into 2nd which then made 1st really hard to get into - So if I get it into 1 it wont go into the other!

It feels really resistant like pushing against rubber.

Anyone had a similar problem? Need to get it sorted by Monday really :dapprove:

Went and checked it this morning and went into both gears fine, no signs of any resistance. Is there anything that could have been affected once the car had fully warmed up?

worth checking the gear linkage. when i was reconnecting mine up it felt like it was pushing against something until i got it all positioned correctly. as for why only do it sometimes, could be lose bolt on gear linkage. could be more sinister of course, but checking gear linkage is free. once you're under there you'll be able to put it into all the gears (dunno about reverse from under the car) and see if it's close to the exhaust or heat shield, etc
