Gearbox from 197 into a 182 ?

Hi guys just in the process of looking in to supercharging my clio trophy , my question is will the 6 speed box from a 197 fit does anyone know ?

No, basically there 2 different types, the 197 has a TL4 box and the 182 obviously the JC5.

To be honest mate the ratios are quite close and not something really needed on a torqey engine

^not really. The 197 has more torque, its just a heavier car. Surly it wouldnt make a difference, just better acceleration? Could be wrong tho.:)

I'm pretty sure every forced induction clio is putting out more torque than a 197, as such theres less need for a close ratio box as there will be a larger spread of power from lower in the rev range

Obviously if you were going down the high comp engine and ITB route where the powrer band will be quite narrow and at the top of the rev range then obviously it would be a more suitable set up.

Friend of mine is doing that at the moment and from what he said gearbox from 197 is quite larger and to put it into clio II RS shell involves quite a bit of cutting + you need to manufacture a certain parts from scratch

the blocks are different, the box is longer, so it wont fit unless you do alot of fabrication
