Gearbox from a different car?

I've noticed that my 3rd gear is abit crunchy most of the time and it can be abit of a sod to get into 1st gear so I'm assuming my gearbox is on the way out. It's had an oil change which made it a little nicer for a while but now it's back to how it was

a mate of mine as an 04 Megane 225 lux which has a 6 speed box,
the car gets absolutely murdered every day even with full throttle launches and his box still feels a lot nicer than mine

so basically I'm wondering if the box in the megane or a stronger gearbox from another car would fit In the clio (ph2 172) with little/no modifications..

Any ideas? Cheers

More hassle than its worth tbh. May aswell chuc the meg engine in whilst at it.

A box from another car that'll fit with little or no modification?! None.

You can get a Audi TT 02M 6 speed box in. Not sure how much work it is but I don't think it's loads. Slower syncro's than on a Renault box though.

With any box from another engine/manufacturer you need:

Adaptor plates,
Custom drive shafts,
Custom gearbox mounts,
Suitable clutch.

It's never going to be a cheap option!
