gearbox help?!?

does anyone know what the difference between a jcs129 and jcs130 is?

Also, if i currently have a 130, will the 129 fit?

Its a 2002 sport 172 that i have, many thanks for your help

The JC5130 is the 182 gearbox, which means it reads the speedo from the ABS, what you need to do is have a look at the back of the engine bay, where both driveshafts go in and see on the top of the diff housing is there is a sensor going in. if there is then no the 130 wont fit.

The JC5 129 was from the mk1 172 and the cups iirc, the ones with the mechanical speedo, probabily easier to ahve a look at teh arse end of tyhe box and see if there is a speedo cable there

JC5 129 was never fitted to the mk1 172

JC3 130 was the Mk2 phase 1 gearbox. it has a speedo output on it.

JC5 129 was fitted to the cup and the normal 172 full fat phase 2 the cup is a specal box as it has its speedo output on it whereas the normal car uses the abs system.
