Gearbox help!!

right i have a problem with my 182 gearbox!! it seems to be like a horrible grinding/scratching of metal type noise when in gear and when changing gear feels so rough and like just metal and not smooth at all. some reason it wasnt doing it in 5th?

could it be a leak and no oil left in it? or worse?

any idea's? last thing i need right now, any help would be much appreciated!!

check the fluid levels. If its very low or empty the damage is already done.

How do I check how much oil is in the gearbox? Lol

Take the wing nut off the front of the box and stick your pinky in the hole.

You should be able to feel fluid if you curl your finger down a bit.

Alternatively, take off the undertray, if there's 7 tonnes of GB oil everywhere, you'll know it's all gone.

Exactly the reason I never run an undertray. Just hides the leaks

i have bought another box from a member on here for 190 delivered, so now just need it fitted. so expensive when we just had a baby! last thing i need!
