Gearbox issue...!

Hi, I have a Ph2 172. I lost all drive & thought the clutch had gone.
Got the car home & jacked up to check.... the output shaft on the drivers side gearbox was spinning but the driveshaft was just wobbling around...🙈.
Any 1 else seen this before or had this problem...?
Stripped the splines & a molten metal mess...!

I’ve got a second hand box to bolt on... to get me up & running...!

Is the shaft easy to replace once the box is stripped down..?
Are they easy to get...serviceable part..?

I’m afraid they’re not easy to strip and they’re expensive if they are available mate.
