Gearbox oil change £70 good or not??

Never reli thought about getin this done before but seen a
few things about it,
do people get this changed and how often? Ive heard u can tell a vig difference when its been done
anyway, a garage have said they can do it for about 70
not sure the exact make of the oil but i know its got the word purple in it lol and its in a purple bottle

If only u wer close to me Fred! Its 4 n a half year old and 41k, will have to look around, is it easy enuf to do, any normal garage be alrite with it yea?
 
What are we saying the best oil to use is then?? Some say 80 some say 90. Going to do mine next weekend so getting the stuff in this week. Any pointers on makeing it easier??
 
Wish i cud do it all meself, im not scared to give it a go i just dont have the space to do it, ive not got jacks ect, its anoyin coz id like to know how to do it all meself like changing engine oil aswell, whats the best oil to use for the gearbox?
 
75w/80 is the standard gearbox oil needed for a jc5, will need 3.1 ltrs:) ( oh and at £70 they are having your pants down imo )

It's quite dear at 65 pounds but they didn't have 1l bottles when I went
 
^ I managed it in about 30 minutes. The longest part is waiting for the existing fluid to drain.
