Gearbox oil - Semi synt or Fully synt

Right can you use fully synt in the 172 gearbox's? everyone seems to go for semi synt by the looks of it.

i have fully synthetic in mine castrol smx-s can't see why it would be a problem.

Is there a reason people go semi synt and why renault recommend?

How does yours feel?

Im sure the bloke at Agency Transmissions who looks after our race car recomended semi synth. No idea why tho
