Gearbox oil

You need to get the car on the flat and level then when you open the bonnet look down the front of the gearbox for a small butterfly nut facing forwards from the gearbox. Remove it and fill in the hole with oil. If oil comes out then the box is full. Unfortunatly this means you need to buy some gearbox oil and some way of filling it (its in an awquard place) to know if its full. When its full no fluid should come out

  Lots of Alfas
Edde is it alright to fill the oil through the top breather on a 172mk1? Until it comes out the butterfuly hole.
