Gearbox Oil

  BMW M135i
Changing my clutch for the 2nd time in 12k miles (don't ask ) so obviously i'll need to drain and change the gearbox oil. Its got normal 75w80 Castrol stuff in now which made a massive difference last time I did it.

Looking at demon tweeks I can get millers stuff (might as well) but they only do 75w90 not 75w80 will this be ok for the JB3 box?

Thinking edde here? I'm assuming it'll be better than the castrol stuff because if it isn't i'll just use that again because i've got some left over from last time so won't need to buy as much.

Yeah I've got Elf TRP 75w80 when I changed mine a few months ago and its fine. Its supposed to be TRJ but thats cheaper stuff. Can't go wrong with millers aswell

Renaults more than likely the only place to get Elf, try a specialists on here will probably sell you it. Its doesn't have to be Elf really, GSF sell gear oil for about £4 a litre but its cheap stuff really.

So putting 75w90 in it will be fine then? Haynes manual says to use 75w80 so i'm just checking.

75/90' a bit thicker when cold but no probelm I use it.

I take it your using the millers stuff then?

I'd give the royal purple a look more expensive though admittidly.

How much more? Don't mind spending a bit if it'll be worth it. Where abouts can I get it from?
