Gearbox oil

Need a recomendation for gear box oil gonna prob get it from opieOils I have done a search and no one seems to recommend one in perticular .. prob looking at the redline or silkolene

I use Automatic transmission fluid no problems so far only because my third syncro is going and its thinner

Cannot have looked to hard as this does come up.

Personaly get the royal purple oil its the best out there but pricy otherwise look at the Millers 75/90 oil its a bit cheaper at £40 vs about £55 (where you can find it royal purple).

Is the Millers 75/90 good enough mate ?

As i have 4 litres of the stuff left over from my Polo Gti.

And was gonna use it on 172 if it was good enough.

Yep its good enough I use it.
