Gearbox Oil

Car  FF BG 182
Hi all rang main stealers today ref how much gear box oil a 182 cup needs and he told me there over flow is it this correct ? ..... just thought id check on before i go replacing it that it is and i dont over fill the box thanks !

Impossible to overfill.

Use the plastic lugnut at the front of the box to fill. Fill until it leaks out of the hole. Easy.

On my computer at home, i think I do.

Pretty much, remove airbox and battery. Down the front of the box, there's a cream/white plastic wingnut. Use a funnel, and a bit of hosepipe. You'll need to trim the hosepipe slightly at one end so it fits into the box. Well, I did anyway.

Alternative option which can be a bit easier / less likely to get oil EVERYWHERE.

Remove battery & airbox.
Drain gearbox
Remove wingnut
Open breather on top of box.
Fill through breather on top until it seeps out of the wing nut hole.

Just down this 20 mins ago and I had trouble finding the nut. It can be a pig to undo if you have A/C but just keep on turning and it'll come out even if it seems to foul the A/C pipe. Bare in mind it does take a bit of time on a cold day like today to get 3.1 litres of oil in, so I recommend the bottles with a filler type nozzle, and them jam some plastic tubing up the nozzle on the bottle to channel it into the box usually via gravity I found works best.
