If you follow the Renault service guide its never due to be changed.

But I usually do it every other service, it's up to you.

You change it every other service ??! Is that not overkill ? What are your service intervals ?

What do you use out of interest ? I want to change mine so am doing a bit of research

I'd do it ever 72k or so.

I follow Renault guidelines for servicing, so 2 services are about 2.5-3 years for me. It's so easy to do aswell and gearbox is such a weak point in the car I try to look after it. I used coma oil that I bought from birchdown.
