Gearbox Oil

I have some Castrol Differential EPX 75W-80 Gearbox oil here, bought it 2 years ago.

Now it says on back BE02 03/10/08, does gearbox oil go off?

Cheers

It's GL5....
Heard you should only use GL4, can anyone enlighten me why?

It's what the box is designed to use.

The info I have is that it is supposed to be 75W80 GL5 (as per the F4R 730 manual, N.T. 3286A). The problem I have is that I have found a 75W90 which is also GL5, but 75W85 which is GL4. Both are Nulon synthetic oil (Australian brand - where I am btw).
So which am I supposed to use?

If you bought it 2 years ago then it was already out of date when you bought it.
