Gearbox oil

Can anyone tell me how to change my gearbox oil please is it difficult ?

Drain plug at the bottom of the gearbox, need an 8mm square to undo it i think. Let it drain out for 5 minutes or so.

THen the fill port is at the front of the gearbox and has a white plastic wing nut that you undo by hand (might need to tap it lightly with a screwdriver and hammer to loosen it).

INsert bendy funnell and fill up with approx 3.1 litres, the box is full when it starts to dribble back out the fill hole (while on level ground).

Job done

Replace the copper crush washer on the drain point to... Don't cheap out or it'll leak.

Any auto factor or places like Halfords will sell you one but expect to pay over the odds for one.

Pence but from Halfords probably about £2.99 for a pack of 3 or 5. TBH iv never bothered renewing it and never had any issues

If you bob down to Renault they'll probably give you one for free as they have them on the shop floor loose on racking

When i changed mine i did it with an hold bit of hose pipe and a funnel... got my mate to hold the funnel and pour the oil in, whilst i lay on the floor and held the pipe in place as it was quite tricky but saved buying extra bits!
