Gearbox problem

Hey, okay, i think its a gearbox problem... when I am accelerating its fine, i take my foot off the accelerator it sounds like a grinding sound... like metal rotating etc.. but it also happens when i press clutch to change gear?

could it be gearbox bearing? or clutch bearing?

any help would be great

Mine started doing this in january. Sounded like when you have no pads left! Also if was cruising down the motorway and depressed the clutch half way it would make a strange noise. Well my gearbox went last week the bearing had exploded into the bell housing. So i guess it was that making making the noise.

ahh not good then!! i guess new gearbox pretty soon then!

What you described sounds exactly like mine did so i expect so! mine did hold out for about five months tho.

well it only started a couple weeks back really... so i will keep an eye on that, will get that done in july when im paid next i think! lol!

In the vw t4 at the min as the 182 is in the garage!

ahhh sweet dont know if you know but worth a shot...

i got a 1.6RXE, wondered if id be able to put the disks from a 172 on mine?

I wouldnt know fella why not just get the correct ones for your car? Id save your money for a new box if i was you! oh and a clutch!

oh yeah clutch and box il be getting done july/august with that paycheck but car is going in for some work on friday anyways
