ive noticed on a couple on occasions lately on my new 172 that when I go to change from 4 to 5 gear not particulalrly fast that it goes into 3rd, is this a common problem, or just that 5th gear is quite noticably to the right and im just sh*te at gear chages?

my dad when he taught me to drive always told me to put my hand on the opposite side to where the gear is, so you can push it into place. As opposed to kinda grabbing from the top and not really feeling it properly. erm.

So make sure your hand is on the left and dont be scared how hard you push it to the top right! and make sure your foot is on the clutch properly!

sorry if this sounds like a piss take but it aint! my 3rd gear feels a bit "crunchy" sometimes for anyones info!

3rd gear being crunchy is the begginings of needing a new gearbox my friend...... number 4 here....
