Gearstick shaft diameter

Hi folks, will be modding a scenic shifter shortly and a friend has offered to turn a wee link piece up on his lathe for me to extend the lower shaft. Anyone know the inside/outside diameter please? He works at sea so will sort it out on board for me- problem is I don't have a spare to cut/measure yet.

I'm sure it's around 12mm but I can measure it up for you when I'm home from the standard shifter.

You only want to extend it about 1.5"

Messaged 16 different ones breaking on eBay and every single one is sold apart from one... which was a f**king auto !

Ridiculous. Getting on to PMS money some of them!
