Gearstick... stick replacement?

Car  valver & 2002 mk2
Hey chaps

I'm just getting to grips with the new momo, and one thing i've discovered (to my horror) when changing off the horrific and wrecked Saltire gearknob, is that some utter plank has actually cut down the gearstick to accomodate a non lift up knob, so when i put on my nice subtle richbrook felly it sank away down past the collar!

Can anyone tell me if i can replace the actual stick cheaply and without removing half the car?

EDIT** Sorry, it's a mk2 2002 1.2 16v.

Thanks for the link, i spotted that a few days ago but i wasn't sure if i'd need that much of it. I'm possibly leaning more towards just finding a replacement non-lift up knob. I'm waiting on a haynes coming through the post so i'll check out the process first. Is it a ramp job i'm assuming?
