its just scored 5.3 on the Windows Vista scoring system, as I understand it the best you can have is 5.9, so pretty chuffed, for some reason it wouldn't do it yesterday. The graphics card scored 5.9.

  FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU
Don't know anythng about it but the case looks cool. With dual screens, if say you were on the left hand screen, would you just scroll all the way across the screen and the pointer will move to the other screen?

yes that's correct, comes in very handy when comparing prices on two seperate websites etc.

is the scoring system built into vista or is it a program you can download to test your pc?

wouldn't mind seeing what i score, but don't have vista.

interesting, so i take it that's overclocked to 2.6ghz? I'm going to try mine to 3ghz or 3.2ghz when I'm up to speed with things. The good thing is though, that the mobo supports future bus speeds, quad core and SLI, so there are plenty of easy options for future upgrades.

Case has made me tent, very nice.

Any particular reason for your components choices?

How noisy is the Seagate? I'm tempted to switch out my 200gb for a silent one.

The 650i doesnt officially support the future bus speed however people are saying it does. Yeah mine is o/c, i just up'd the CPU FSB from 266 to 333. Will probs take it to 400, kinda wish i had gone for the 800mhz memory.

The seagate is fine, its not queit when in operation but nothing major. Problem is vista indexes the drive so for the last few days mine has just been working non stop.

Here is the case i went for

I'm finding the Seagate quite noisy actually (underload), but its positioned low in the case infront of vent openings to the front of the case so its exposing some of the noise.

I chose the motherboard because its supports the 1066MHz memory (and future speeds) but also supports SLI and Quad Core CPUs. The graphics card I chose because I've had a faultess XFX card before and it seemed the one to go for.

I bet the 1066mhz memory set you back a bit? The 800mhz stuff I bought back in July was enough!

Looks a good system m8 - just keep tracking those prices of the 8800 as they start to fall and then nab another twin for some SLi action.

Christ almighty, we need to get out more...... ;)

I hope you'll be sorting the cooler out for something more substantial before clocking it?

yeah the memory was £200. That's the plan with the 8800 yeah.

You can view 2 seperate websites at the sametime. If you are moving/copying files from one folder to another, you can have each folder on each screen. If you are entering things into a spreadsheet off a website/document you can have the spreadsheet on one screen and the website/document on the other (saves you having to flick between the two) etc etc etc. It basically gives you twice the work area, so when I'm importing music into iTunes I can leave that on the right screen and browse the internet on the left screen.

any plans to overclock?

got same cpu as me and it overclocks so easy. :)

what are you running it at? I'm told 3GHz is comfortable, I'm planning on going to 3GHz and changing the OEM cooler. But with the 1066MHz memory and £400 graphics card I think that's all I'll need.

can go a lot higher than 3Ghz, you can probs get away with 3.3 on stock volts

Im at 3.6 very stable. Took it to 3.8 but wasnt too stable after a few hours of gaming.

Oh, but i'm not on stock cooling, shouldnt make that much diff tho unless your gonna overclock the tits off it.
