geting the smooth look on calipers

  Clio MK1, r5 gtt
Have got some rear caliper carriers here, so had a play with them, got them blasted, then sanded them with some 800grit paper to get them a bit smoother, sprayed them with vht paint off ebay. Came out good but not what im after.

Have had a search and seen people either using halfords paint, or hammerite smooth. Well what paint code for a nice red, the sort of red on brembo's etc?

Also how do you get that flat/smooth look, do you have to wet/flat the 1st layer back of something? use a primer and flat that back?

Thats what i was thinking. Will normal metal high build primer be ok?

Also is there a paint code for the red everyone uses?

Hammerite smooth, or halfords paint?
