getting a bit more out of it...

  G51 BEN
ive only got a 1.2 but i wouldnt mind a bit more out of it. firstly i was thinking taking the spare wheel out and getting a compressor kit. surely that would lose a BIT of weight at least.

any more cheap and easy to do solutions to gain a bit more? dump the girfriend?

air filter arriving soon

the sport badge has already gained 10bhp (joking.... its only 5bhp)

i know il get all the "YOU CANT TUNE A 1.2 ENGINE FFSFSFSFSFSAKE!"
im not trying to... if you are going to say that or tell me how fast your 1*2's are then i WILL send you my dogs steaming sh1t in the post.

p.s... i havent really got a sport badge - and please DO tell me how fast your 1*2's are cause thats what im getting next.

There is no substitute for cubic capacity subject to what the "super chippers" will tell you, save your money and buy a faster car

Next to gutting it - which you already mentioned starting, you're never really going to improve performance. Back seats, carpets, interior trim - they all weigh a surprising amount. Get them out at the expense of creature comforts.

After this, the most you can do would be to lose weight, have a good crap and have no petrol in it.

Is that what you wanted to hear?

Any mods that you'd *really* notice from tweaking an engine (+30bhp at the fly would be just about noticeable, allowing for transmission losses, etc.) would probably cost you more than an newer, faster car.

Save your money.

+1 you could strip it out at the rear and maybe be .1 second faster, its not going to make a noticeable difference really.

Even weight reduction you probaly wont notice from a 1200cc unless you really go to town with it (i.e perspex windows absolutley nothing in the cabin bar the drivers seat and no dashboard)

I wouldnt even consider the compromise for comfort tbh!
