Hi, hope this is in the right section...
Ph1 172, never got hot or even close to hot since I've owned it, always sat between a quarter and half.
Tonight, noticed a lot of steam and the temp gauge started to creep up, stopped straight away and realised coolant was leaking from somewhere under the expansion tank, at the back of the engine bay. Topped up coolant, left it for a bit, drove and it was fine. Then had a bit of a play, and the same thing happened.
Then on the way home, turned heaters off, and it went up, stopped at the side of the road and bled it up. Drove away, temp still creeps up.
Anyone got ideas? Firstly on what my possible leak could be? Only thing we could think of was heater matrix hoses, or the tank pressuring so much and pissing out the top or something where the stat could be not the best.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
