Getting rid of power steering

Find a donor clio with an elec PAS pump built onto the column ( no 13 )

I take it you have changed your rack when you removed the PAS system. If not it will be very hard to steer. I fitted a standard 1.2 Steering rack on my conversion and it was very easy to steer.

Cheers Matt - Yeh changed the rack to a manual one, cant remember which tho (Flans the man in the know) - dont know if its a 1.2 / dci rack with the electric pump built in it. Did you have your Electric pump working on your rack or leave it off?... Mine certainly isnt on! ha

I think i read somewhere it's worth 8HP when removed.

pickup was quicker and felt more willing to rev. i've read it's 7-8bhp
