Getting used to new bucket seats .....

  Golf TDI
Just recently managed to get myself a set of buckets and harnesses and have fitted them today ! was wanting to know how everyone else thats made the change has got on with these style seats as tbh i cant see over the steering wheel ha ha ( and im not short one bit ) just they are that low , also how have people found the change for harnesses as im now pretty glued in the chair and cant really look over my shoulder when parking etc !! take some getting used to ? :)

never used my mirrors for manouvering before , just looked about the place but the last few days iv had no choice :S im sure i will get used to it !

they can be hard work in a road car - restrict your movement and all that; can you still reach the stereo?! can't beat being strapped in to a decent, supportive seat, though

yes can reach the radio etc but its a mission to park and to see curbs on the road . was wondering how other bucket users find them ?

Just made my buckets a bit lower as they weren't that low to start with. Same thoughts as above really; parking is a mission - have to park miles from anyone as need the door open fully to get in and out. Rversing is ok with the mirrors just being carfeul of the blind spots. Major 'mare is junctions that aren't at a right angle - very hard to look over your shoulder. End up slipping one shoulder out of the harness to see!

As Henry said though, can't beat the feel of being held in that well, car feels awesome :)

Try squaring up to the junction so you can see both ways..regardless of road/lane markings and angle.

Need to do this in a lot of vans, no problem so long as you're not in anyone else's way.

Are they side mounts? There may be some adjustment possible if the side mounts allow it. Failing that, you may be able to buy different side mounts to raise them up to your needs, but check they match your seats!

Alternatively you could put aluminium box section below the current side mounts to raise them up a bit.

As for the harnesses, you could give yourself a bit of slack on the shoulder straps to give you a little more movement.
