Gimp 2.6

Not a query directly to do with gimp 2.6 but deffinatly linked.

Basically I've taken a picture I want to use as a canvas. Now I've edited the photo and saved it. But in order to have it as a canvas I need to save the picture on a memory stick so export it from gimp into a jpeg file.

Now here lies the problem, this distorts the quality of the picture real bad. Any body know my solution?

Gimp gives you the option to adjust the quality of Jpeg when you export it, I am guessing this is set low (Below 85) and should be set as high as possible if being used for printing (100).

Ok after looking at it, I only get a choice of file type and not the quality of the jpeg?
