Glacier White 197.

Hey all,

fairly new to the forum, brought myself a 197 before christmas but with usual renault standards getting all the servicing and bits done took until this week to get done and i picked her up saturday =]

pictures are poo quality as off of iPhone, but brother has a sw**ky camera which i dunno how to use so when ive got his help i will get some taken this week and upload them, here is the reason why i got the 197

RR was total write off, he was very drunk, I was asleep he came around corner, "swerved to miss this imaginary person at 3am in morning" hit a Renault laguna rolled off that and landed on top of a defender 110, the. Rolled and banged my front end.

Got the 197 from a dealer in Nottingham, where it's from yet I don't no til log book comes.

Already been tinkered with i notice. Black mirrors, black door handles, wheels refurbed black, badges black and missing locking wheel nuts?

I've done nothing to it yet, but need to sort locking nuts out :-0

Girlfriends mum and dad have a White r26 f1 and they asked for black wheels from dealer instead of,"sorry for spelling" anthracite... So guess they could have come on the car?

I do believe he got banned and fined as to how much/long I don't know.

No, they dont do black wheels as standard unless they are the twin spoke 'speedline'. Probably just had them refurished in black, and got the door handles/mirrors done to match mate

Thanks for all the comments guys! carbon badges have come so going to try stick them on today as not working late, what would you use to bond them on with?

Are they not just clipped in, like the 1*2's?

The ones Ive ordered from streamline carbon have no clips on the back, they may just go over as a cover but havent tried and will require bonding on

Oh and if anyone was wondering about locking nuts for 197, every thread I found on here says m12 x1.5 for the 1*2's but couldn't find a thread for any 197's

Halfrauds got it all wrong in their manuals also, what a suprise...

It's m14 x 1.5, the mcguads ones fit fine

Hey all

fitted the Renault sport tail pipes this morning, looks better IMO but comments please,

also, these came other day and i'm undecided weather to fit or not...
1 because its going to be a ball ache.... and
2 because if i have the rear badge carbon fibre, then ill remove the " C L I O" but dont really want to remove the "renault" and "sport" badges, and taking them off to spray black and put back on will make it look s**t...

do the current badges have clips or hooks or eyes on the back so they pop in, these dont if you can see in the photo of the backs :S

The carbon will look fine alongside the CLIO and the RS badge imo. I think if you spray them badges black, it will look a bit ott.

Yup its filthy, but i am in no mood to wash it yet, not until at least spring!!

might pay some polish guy to do it if we have sun for more that 2 days before... but ya know!

still havent see your 200 around yet =0
and yeah dont want ott... still undecided about badges.. hmmm for £89 i should use them..

Car looks nice- however if you want some honest feedback the exhaust tips look awful- infact worst than standard- at least the stock item was recessed-

They are totally lost in the diffuser- if youre going to do it you need exit pipes on a par with the 200----

lol polish is a no no then,

yeah they are genuine renault ones, just wasnt sure how far to hang them out, so did it to my liking... =s

how much further do they stick out, if thats what your saying steve?

Hopefully fitting the spoiler this weekend. havent rung the guy to see if he has managed to spray it yet =0 just hoping he has.
