go fast cable...

my acc cable has a black plastic barrel thing around it that holds it 'tight', but it appears to have snapped off and its just kinda slipping about on the cable. If you know what I mean?

I'm not being very bright, and have no idea what its called, can anyone tell me so I can buy a replacement?

The "ribbed" bit? its for taking the slack out the cable! Either bodge it up or get a new cable!

inside the engine bay, where the cable is, there is like black plastic housing that the cable goes through. I'm assuming its to hold it tight?

Its kinda like a round block type thing?

I know I'm being a mong.
I'll take a pic in a bit if I can get one in the dark.

That bit? Whats broke about it? Yeah, I bought a ph1 172 cable for about £15 IIRC from Renault, came complete.

As in, snapped off the cable or just seperated form the ridged bit? If its just seperated it'll be reet for a while, new cable is cheap but a ***** to fit. You have little hands though..............

Seperated its kinda going along the cable.

I do have tidgy hands.. so you can instruct and I'll fiddle lol.

Leave it for a bit then, just make sure nit doesnt get wet or it'll get stuck and thats no fun. Give me a shout when you get the cable, POP though so if you can rig up a valver fan, you can do this.....
