Go Pro advice, total newb

Right the missus is looking at buying me a go pro for Christmas for me too film upcoming track days, mountain biking and general tomfoolery. Now I'm no technical guru when it comes to electrical goods as I don't have a massive interest but I don't want myself or the missus getting sold down the river by the local currys for example.

Now my main question is what is the difference in models, I have been recommended to go for a go pro 3 but which one?

GoPro Hero3+ Silver edition
Go Pro hero3 white edition
Go Pro Hero3+ black

Now all I want is recommendations and the spec breaking down into simpletons terms lol, any help would be much appreciated

IIRC the Black can film at the highest speed, meaning super slow mo footage.
