Gold Stars

  It's A Reno
I'm seriously thinking about painting the wheels on my RS gold, and after seeing the thread about the Zonda R, even more so.

I was thinking about a light gold like on some scoobys or a rich gold like on a Williams.

I wondered if someone with photoshop could put some gold wheels of both shades on a Monaco 172 for me please?

If not, can anyone think of a peelable coating I can put on 2 of my wheels so I can spray them and if it looks sh*t, I can get it off again.

Thanks :D

If anything a bronze colour would look better, and even then its debatable.

Maybe, but it's in my head now so I've got to see it through. I personally expect it to look the mutts, hopefully. :D

All I need is a kind soul with 'shop and no money to go out tonite lol.

Thanks very much for that b1lly, it cerainly gives me an idea of what it will look like. The problem I've found is there are sooo many shades of gold it's unreal. Which to go for.
I'll try to root out a photo of mine in a bit, but I don't take many really. Not very CS is it lol.

What's wrong with a Willy 172, it's different if nothing else. :approve:

Standard 172 wheels do not suit anything other than black, amphasite, silver or white. Would need turinis or something, and even then I'd bet it'd be pish.

Well, a bit of a mixed bag of opinion there. :S

I can't find any photos of mine as the split, ahem, I mean my beloved seems to have erased all my photos on the memory card in the camera, bless her. She isn't taken by the idea btw.

I think of the ones b1lly has done for me, (thanks again) the lighter gold looks best.

One thing that springs to mind though is that with a standard car, you have a certain amount of anonymity. If I spray them gold, everywhere I go, if seen it will be "that's that cnut off of CS"

Opinions?

I think I may have decided on the colour - Ford solar gold, but I would like to know the name / code for the gold used on Willy and preza wheels too if anyone has them to hand.

Then my plan goes into action with the aid on a can of POR 15. ;)

Aye, fair play for trying something but I've seen enough gold wheels on blue cars to know it just doesn't work. Impreza's and Williams only!

Quite like the first example, you'll have to resist the urge to go paint every pit of removable lpastic gold aswell though because it'll look over the quite easily

I nearly bought a blue 172 Cup with gold Turinis off PH while I was looking for a 172. Looked ace, previously owned by a Renault mechanic. Can't find pics of it now though, think the ad's been removed. I like the look myself, each to their own!
