Megane R26
Today's detail was a rather lovely dark blue Mk5 VW Golf R32 in 3 door version. The car itself was in decent condition, but was quite heavily swirled from the previous owner and COVERED in LUMPS of tar (which I spent nearly an hour removing!)
Few before pics:
First up, the wheels, tyres and arches were cleaned with Megs Super Degreaser, APC, a long wheel brush and Envy brushes.
Next, the car was snow foamed with Optimum Shampoo and Megs Hyper Wash:
The car was then:
- Hand washed with CYC sheepskin pad and Duragloss 901
- Tar meteors removed with ValetPro Citrus Tar Remover (great stuff!)
- Car clayed with Megs Last Touch and I4D Orange Clay
- Car hand washed and rinsed again, then taped up ready for polishing.
I tested about 5/6 combination, but finally settled on Menzerna 203S on a white Menzerna compounding pad via Chicago Rotary, then followed up with Dodo Juice Lime Prime on the black Festool Finishing pad (AWESOME pad!)
I achieved about 95% correction on this one, leaving a couple of RDS's which we will go after sometime next year.
Oh and... the car was topped with Zym0l Vintage wax and wiped down 30 minutes later with Z Field Glaze
Windows done with AG Glass Polish, tyres with Megs Hot Shine and Exhausts with Britemax.
Some afters:
Total time - 8 hours.
Thanks for looking
Russ.
