Good 40mm Drop springs

Wondering if there is some decent springs out there that offer a 40mm drop? I don't want to run Apex as the ride quality is terrible, however Eibach sportlines don't offer enough drop to pull off 15's.

I'm trying to stay away from spending £700+ for coilovers as IMO they're not that good on the road.

Is there anything available? I know BTM were testing something on the trophy a while back, but haven't seen anything come to light yet

There are no springs that will offer that sort of drop with a quality ride. And even if there were, you'd need uprated dampers to match, which will see you close to coilover money.

Coilovers or nothing unfortunately chap. If you don't want to spend the money then hang around and look for some second hand.

Have you run Apex before Chris??

I only ask as 90% of the forum say apex are pants, and haven't even tried them.

If you have, then the best I'd suggest is sportlines.

I've got sportlines, it's just not low enough for 15's. But they are very good, a RARB to sort out the understeer and they'd be a perfectly adequate road setup.

sportlines dont look to bad...

I think it's going to have go be trophy dampers with eibach sportlines and whiteline rear arb. This is the set up I ran on the trophy.

Will have to convert the hubs but not a big deal.

I've been in a car with apex Rob, ride was terrible.

i currently have apex 40mm springs on my 1.2 with 17s, ride is ok to be honest obvs would be alot better with 15s, but you dont buy lowering springs for softer ride quality, lowering springs are ment to be harder and stiffer to keep your ride stable, people always forget that.......

Keeping the cup then Chris? Good news :D

Don't worry I've had 3 sets of coilovers, a trophy on eibachs etc so I know what I want. Stiffer to a point, if it's too stiff you get an unstable ride and unpredictable handling.

Well I started putting it back to standard, sold all the tasty bits (speedlines, fk's, ast's etc) then noticed some trophy dampers up for sale :D so thought I've got to have them, I had a few drives out in the cup and realised the car has been faultless and selling it to fund another trophy could be another disaster waiting to happen. When I was going to arrange to collect said trophy dampers the lad selling them decided to keep them, understandable really but a bit of a s**tter for me. You'll see in the media section I've nabbed some 2118's and a yozza so next thing is suspension....again!
