For that money you will get decent budget coils, They may not perform the best or last on the track though.

Not sure how much FK konigsports are for clio's. But if your budget can stretch but you dont want to break the bank i'd go for them.

Get something decent 2nd hand, like FK KonigSports.

If you want brand new, Koni's & Sportlines is a very good combo.

To be fair, on track, standard suspension & a whiteline ARB will be better than some cheap ar5e coilovers imho.

not too hooked up with suspension tbh whats an arb mate? im not keen on the height of the car i think p1s look crap standard they are far too high lol

So your more interested in looks then, rather than trackday handling?

Lows does not necessarily mean better handly, far from it in fact.

Whiteline ARB is a rear anti roll bar, helps to the stiffen up the rear of the car, which is naturally quite soft as standard, helps reduce on the limit understeer basically.

they are a bit s**t but as they are cheap people love them. Heaviest coilovers I have ever held
Good Budget Coilovers for the Clio are the AP Suspension APF coilovers, and the Weitec Hicon GT coilovers
If you are really on a budget then get the Eibach Sportline springs and save the faffing of having to regularly clean coilovers to stop the adjuster rings seizing up.

I like the sound/look of those Weitec coilovers. One of my 182 front springs snapped, so thought great excuse to get some coilovers :) What would you recommend if you had a slightly higher budget? Or would you recommend spending the extra cash on top of the Weitec ones and buy some top mounts?

Plan is to take the car off the road next year, and use it just for track use, so i'm not fussed if they are "rough" on normal roads....

FK Highsports are ~£470 from Venom Motorsport, who are by far the cheapest. Konigsports are £600+ (the only real difference being damping adjustability). A set came up 2nd hand on here the other day for £450, and I was gutted I'd just fitted new Highsports. If you want a decent ride, and plan on maybe the occassional trackday then they are perfect.

The Weitec kit is nice. Again its another company owned by KW Automotive. If its going to be a track car get them and some top mounts. If you want the next step up then the KW variant 1 or Bilstein B14's are next in line and are a step up again in component quality.

I'd save up the extra for the konigsports. FK highsports do not seem to cope well with UK roads. The seals go on a regular basis.

First I've heard. I wouldn't pay the extra for a new set. Like I said, you can probably get a decent set with adjustable damping for a similar price 2nd hand.

Seals on the front, back or both?

theres no consistent pattern. I have stopped selling the FK as they are so much hassle to sort out. Failure rate in first six months has been too high and I loose money on every failure.

I have noticed since removing my coilovers, I get chronic understeer.

Would an ARB solve this?

If so, It will be the next thing the car gets!

Granted the Koni adjustable dampers are proven to be awesome, however for general daily use, and only the occasional trackday (and budget), Highsports are probably the best option. You'd have to go second hand to get hold of adjustable coilovers for sub £500.

If a set of adjustable rear dampers come up for sale at decent money, then I'll prob go for them. At the time however there was no decent 2nd coilovers <£500 for sale. Until them Konigsports came up a few days after I fitted mine.

Tell you what, for someone that doesn't know a lot about suspension and trying to go by what people say/advise is tough!

Think i need to try and do some more research :S
