Good cycle rack for a Clio

Just wondered if anyone uses a cycle rack on their Clio, and could recommend one.

Dont want anything thatll damage the car obvuously (Cup), and want one that fits a Clio really well.

Cant fit my Mountain bike in the Clio, thought thered be plenty space, but no chance!!

I know Renault do one, but thought Id best check with anyone on here that may have found a better one, as Id probably have to take it back because it rattles too much if I got one thats made by Renault :)

You can fit your MTB in the Clio. My Lefty gets in there no probs - just take the wheels off and slot the frame between the backs of the front seats and the rear bench. However, this will mess the interior up in no time, so the solution is to put the bike on top of the car (I dont recommend the rear carriers having had one and worked in Halfords many moons ago).

I use a Thule roof system and cant fault it. Looks well cool when you waste another so-called hot hatch and have a bike on the roof too!! But the price is worse fuel figures and about 10-20% worse performance. My Valver will roast bigger engined 3-Series without the roof on, but will struggle with 320s when I have the bike on the roof (experience!!).

Ive got a heavy freeride bike i just strap the f**ker on the back with my hollywood rack, have a look in a bike mag there in there somewhere. very very good racks really never had any problems. car feels crap with it on there though.

i can fit 2 in the back if i take the seats out but as ben said it gets sh*tty in no time and the winters coming...

never really facied the roof racks may give it a go, not a option on the super 7 though.:D

They do - its in the Clio accessories brochure (next to the: "Additional/optional rattles you may wish to add to complete your journey in true Renault style" section).

glad someone has brought this topic up, I was undecided for over a year, and eventally gave in, uses a towbar mount, withought the ball......looks but ugly, but suppose will save my arse from a small rear end collision ! muddy mountainbikes a leather seats do not work.....

£75 quid for roof bars at renault dealer, and you get a free cycle carrier at halfords with a new bike! (about £50)

Roof bars are ace and are really strong. Ive done ton+ with bike on top no probs and a few roundabouts over the national speed limit (not deliberately just forgot bike was on top)

Rear carrier will knacker your spoiler
