Might be loads of threads, but not many actually say what oil is good, just the grade

I am of the view that 75w80 is the best. I have been using it over the last one year and it has never given me any headaches. Driving has always been a wonderful experience ever since I installed it. I would advise against using 75w90. A friend of mine had installed it last month. Now he is having problems with it.

so many different opinions/advice about gearbox oil

alot of people on here say 75w-80, yet the specialist who rebuilt mine says you should use 75w-90, in fact he pretty much condemned using 75w-80!

Has any body ever used 80w90?

The first number is to do with the oil thickness at really low temps and my track car won't be used in -20 degrees temps

You gotta be careful, there is a reason for the type of oil I.e trj, trz, trx if you use the wrong stuff the additives can eat away at the bronze etc in the box!
