At the moment i'm upgrading my 172 cup, just started with new koni shockers front and back, black diamond grooved and drilled discs front and back too.

What kind of things should I be looking for when I am looking to get more performance out of the engine? Admittedly I know jack about chips, turbo's, tuning, filters or indeed anything to make the damn thing faster or to get more bhp lol

So any help, tips or advice will be much appreciated, also is there anywhere else apart from Revolution in Gateshead to be able to do these upgrades?

my mate got a ported and polished manifold or inlet plenum or something on his 182, and he got a new ecu from K-Tec which made a fair difference hope thats of some help

It's hard to get much more in terms of performance out of a NA car unless you have thousands to spend (literally). Things like better suspension and brakes allow you to go faster anyway.

I'm in the process of tuning my 172 FF at the mo, I'm getting an exhaust, decat, cams, remap, modified inlet manifold. And I've already got BMC CDA induction kit with a cold air feed. These together should make a nice increase in bhp and torque, but nothing amazing.

For a 172 I'd get the manifold reworked a remap and a decat. thats about the best cheap hp you'll get.
