Google Chrome

does look interesting yeah, apparently the beta will be available today!

oh come on thats b****cks griff...it's got loads of stuff in there way over firefox's head. Be fair

Waiting for them to put this back up, I have a feeling it'll work well.

It was meant at tongue in cheek but...

* the same malware and phishing protection Firefox has
* a URL bar which resembles a cross between the Awesome Bar and IE8's URL bar
* IE7 and 8 have the thread separation/minimum privilege idea going on already
* the new tab page looks similar to Opera's Speed Dial
* the private browsing mode's been being batted around at Mozilla for ages and is implemented in IE8b2
* the rendering engine is the same one that powers Safari.

That's not to say I won't try it. It might be very good.

dont like the bookmark bar accross the top, so removed it and now you cant get into bookmarks anywhere? :S

needs the file/view/bookmarks/tools at the top tbh

lol tbf pretty much every user of the net uses google. I'm sure there not keeping track of you visiting some sites you shouldnt be

This will sway you... Google chrome has the option to open an icognito window so your Mrs won't find your p**n history ;)

You've gone incognito. Pages that you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files that you download or bookmarks that you create will be preserved, however.

Just downloaded this, its very fast so far, only crap thing is its moved some of my favourites across but not all!
Thats my only complaint so far!

Using it now. For a Beta I think it's really good.
It loads instantly and pages also seem to load quicker.
Few little things I need to get used to such as bookmarks and scroll speed but other than that it's defiantly worth trying out.

It's good from what I have used so far, but it's not going to pull me away from Firefox or Safari when on the Mac.

it's f**king rapid omg, loving the speed.

couple of things i like, love the drag and drop feature works really well. Runs very smoothly and the predicitve input it's good too.

Also if you go into task manager it's nice cause you can see each page runs as a seperate process. Although it seems to be using quite a bit of memory (which i'm not noticing cause my pc has 4gig) but 4 pages open, 120mb :/ might not be for everyone i think.

It looks ok, runs quick. But IMO it's not as good as Firefox / IE.

Some sites I use just don't look the same in GoogleChrome either

my scrolling is weird. It scrolls down but not up again. Other than that, chrome seems nice and v.quick.

The way it deals with Gmail is really smart, allows it to be used as an app.

Press the paper icon next to the spanner while in gmail and click create application shortcuts

So how do I access my favourites easily?

I was on Radio 1 website, I wanted to come here. In IE I just click the favourites tab and click cliosport. How do I do that in the chrome one?
