Got my 172 de-cat/sports cat. Couple of Questions.

I finally got my de-cat/sports cat through today, which looks like it might fit. ;)
First question: Is it a de-cat or a sports cat as it looks more like a cat to me, Janspeed I think.
Second question: Which is the 1st lambda and which is the 2nd as I need to know which to block.
Third and final question: What thread size are the lambda probe holes so I know what I need to hunt down to block one.
Thanks in advance people.

I don't want the hazardous emissions light coming on though which is why I wanted to block the 2nd.

Mine have both plugged in for around 2 1/2 years with both plugged in and i've had no lights on (touches wood) give it a go and see.

1.it might be a 'silenced' de cat, if you look down the pipe, can you pretty much see through it, you'll probably see an insert with holes it... this is the baffle

2. the first hole is the one next to the bend with the flange... longer bit of pipe...oo er  , this is the one you leave connected, (also remember to leave the other connected, but taped up under the car) the second one is in the shorter pipe, i blocked with a probe from the scrappies off a reno, worked a treat ;) ,

3. see above

just seen the above pic, swap the numbers round and its then right. The bent longer piece of pipe is the bit that goes to the manifold

A silenced decat look different to that as i have got one. If its Janspeed then it looks like the sports-cat.

Definately looks like sports cat...looks black though so has someone painted it with some ceramic paint or something similar?

IIRC the O2 sensor holes are 18mm

He just needs to look into the pipe and see if the honeycomb cat section is there or not.

Cheers for the replies so far guys. So it looks like a sports cat then? Excellent, I only paid £62 delivered and they're £269.99 on MSW.

Will this be significantly less free flowing than a full decat?
It just looks black in the pics as I used my camera phone.

If it is the sports cat both lambdas will be fine and there will be no need to remove it come MOT time I take it.

Yes and yes :) (got mine last Friday - full powerflow system and sports cat)

Looks like a sports cat to me too... plug both sensors in..
If you can shine a torch into it, cat's usually have a few layers of gauze/mesh in them (something about trapping hydro-carbons n' that)
