I think I saved them to Windows Contacts or used the function to create a phonebook back up on the memory stick and somehow synced that to my iPhone. Now my iPhone always syncs and updates Windows Contacts when I save new numbers. I assume it's just as easy on a Mac, but I haven't bothered trying yet.

how do you get them onto a google account? i am new to all this...i used to just copy from sim but cant now lol

go to settings / Mail,Contacts,Calender / scroll down to import sim contacts. worked for me anyway
