Have managed to get a 172, 51reg with 22k on the clock for 5k!!! It has front end damage. Needs Bonnett bumper, lights, grill, one wing and a few other bits, nothing major. Gonna make a good job of repairing it and either keep it and sell mine or sell it. Either way its gonna make a fun project with some room for making a little money one way or another. Im am really excited about it, will at least take my mind of the events of this weekend (see Off Topic).

Cool, how much money cheaper was it?
Gonna put a subtle kit on or orginal parts?
No gonna go for original parts, my dad thinks he might want it. Reckon it can be easily repaired for under 2k. so thats 7k at max. Then it will be Cat D so around 8k value will leave me with a 1k+ margin. Im gonna strip it down source the parts and stick it into a local qaulity bodyshop that I have used. The main expense may well be the Xenons. (after painting)

I cannot belive its a write of though with so little damage mine was repaired and it had way more damage than that.
Is the warenty still valid for a car which is wrote off?
And isnt it a problemn trying to get insured on a car which has previously been wrote off?

Not sure bout the warranty, its a 51 reg so would only have a year remaining. I forgot to mention that the side airbag has gone, but I have got one already and can get the cover restitched back to orginal for just twenty quid. No problems insuring a Cat D car. It really doesnt need that much work.
