Got new front lambda sensor, does it matter if back sensor is broke?

I just want to confirm something, I have a decat pipe fitted and My mpg was pretty bad and car was stinking of petrol.

Anyway front ones brand new but I know the rear sensor ain't working properly but I have told by someone on here that doesn't matter as ling as the front is working properly especialy as I have a decat pipe.

New sensor hasn't turned off my emissions warning light, guess I need to clear it with diagnostics.

As far as my noob knowledge goes a new front lambda will not turn your emissions light off because the rear one deals with that and the front deals with fuelling etc. It will generally stay on if you are decatted anyway however some people get lucky and it stays off for them even with a decat.

rear sensor not working will be why the light is on. That's all it does though, doesn't effect the running of the car

Great, I can live with the light staying on.

My car was running very rich was stinking of petrol but hopefully now this has been replaced it will be fixed.

I did start a thread asking what else could be causing it to run rich and returning bad mpg but got no reply.


Oink can u let me know how u get on with those exhaust hangers please?

Yeah will do mate, will hopefully be getting done next sunday so I will let you know, although I spoke to Ryan from NWP and he said they are fine he has sold over 400 and fitted half of those and they are as good as renaults if not better. So i'll keep you posted.
