Grinding noises

When i give my car some it grinds in between gears especially 1->2 and 2->3 any ideas what this is tried double clutching and still does it.

can only think of a worn clutch

CLUTCH HAS DONE 6,000 MILES

do search on site for clutch self adjuster, follow what it says and this might sort it, as clutch might not be releasing completely, otherwise its box problems, although pretty sure it will be self adjuster as they always play up
