Grinding strut spacer/clunking issues

  Clio Mk2 DCI 68
Hello, I have ordered my new suspension kit (apex -60mm). When I am turning and drive over, say, a grate i get a snatch at the wheel and a clunk, as if the top mount is loose or a balljoint is worn. I have read on hear about grinding a spacer?? Can anyone fill me in on this? Also how much do I tighten the rubber donoughts (in the engine bay) on top of the struts? They are just hand tight from new-could this be the problem? Cheers

What Clio I'd guess a Mk2 none RS?

172/182s can need the top of the sheel around strut tops modifying to try and get rid of the problem.

Check bottom and top mount they can and do wear commonish problem.

Hi Edde,

Can you post a pic of how the modified strut top looks like??? I think I am having same problem as stevo123.

thanks,

hkka

they don't need grinding at all, thats the pikey fix, go into renault and order the spacer washers for a V6 255, problem solved
